What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an amazing experience that for many people gives them a feeling of profound relaxation and peace, though some may experience it a little differently, just like they’re daydreaming. However it doesn’t matter how you experience it, the effect is just as dramatic.
This feeling can be likened to a clear meditative space, where you are deeply relaxed, though not asleep but you are totally aware, in control and able to hear everything that goes on.
When you are deeply relaxed like this your conscious mind (which is your logic and reasoning, and everything you do consciously) turns right down which means your unconscious mind (where all your memories, habits and behaviours are stored) is open to suggestions.
When you are in a hypnotic trance you are in a heightened state of focus and awareness; a state where suggestions appear to go directly into your unconscious mind.
The suggestions used offer alternative positive ways to think and also remind your un-conscious mind of how great you will feel when you have got rid of or changed the behaviour you don’t want, and all the benefits it is going to bring to your life when you choose to ‘let go’.
You may feel surprised afterwards to find you won’t have to use your willpower to think about stopping or changing a certain behaviour (which requires continual motivation). You will think differently as you have already worked on your unconscious mind. Now you no longer have the belief that was stopping you, so you no longer have the behaviour. What a great feeling when you realise that feeling of wanting and desiring you had, that made you hold on to a certain habit or behaviour – has gone!
That is the power of hypnotherapy.
Your conscious mind can think of 7-9 things at once, your unconscious….5 million per second!!!! Imagine the power of being able to tap into that.
Just so you know……
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis – you choose to use and have fun with your imagination, you choose to allow yourself to relax deeply and you choose to do the work/make the changes. No one can ‘do it’ to you, but I am here to support and guide you… and I know “you can do this!”
After a few sessions, if you would like to – I can teach you to do it yourself. It is empowering to know can take charge of your own mind, and make changes when you need to, imagine your life unlimited.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a whole therapeutic process.
We begin with a regular talk-therapy session where you share your concerns, problems, or issues at hand, finding out what you want to change and why, what drives and motivates you, and what your desired outcome is, so we have a clear focus before going into hypnosis.
Then when you are ready I will take you on a guided meditation to a state of peaceful relaxation, where you are in charge of allowing helping yourself to relax fully. A place where your mind feels calm, clear and alert and your unconscious mind receptive. This calmness is a blissful experience, where you are fully in control but feel really relaxed and kind of energised at the same time.. a feeling of being open to your potential.
In this clear space you are open to the suggestions of change we have agreed on to reach your desired outcome, and I will give you the tools here to guide you to make the changes.
In this clearness your subconscious mind can often experience clarity on what you really do want, and maybe what in your mind is holding you back.
When the work is done, I will gently guide you out of the trance and back to an alert wakeful state. You will feel rested, clear, alert and refreshed and excited to be making these positive changes to yourself, your life.
You will leave your session with an action plan; with methods to practise and the steps you need to take to reach your specific goal. So you leave with a clear map of where you want to go and how you are going to get there, and perhaps already a different way of viewing things!
With your commitment you will be amazed at the power, the ease once you are focused on what you really want, once you have redirected your thoughts how changes are made, quickly, easily and how they really last.
